Disneyland Park
The original Disneyland® Park is where it all began. It's possible that only Walt Disney truly knew the potential of his theme park when it opened in 1955. For more than 55 years, Disneyland® Park has appealed to the world as "The Happiest Place on Earth," an enchanted kingdom of fantasy and imagination filled with more than 60 adventures and attractions across eight themed lands. Adventureland, Critter Country, Fantasyland, Frontierland, Main Street, U.S.A, Mickey’s Toontown, New Orleans Square and Tomorrowland are destinations in their own right with rides and attractions, shops, restaurants and live entertainment.
What's New at Disneyland® Park:
"Star Tours – The Adventures Continues" reopened June 3, 2011, with all-new 3-D scenarios. Inspired by the classic "Star Tours" that opened at Disneyland in 1987, the new Star Tours features multiple odysseys, a variety of new locations including Tatooine, Hoth, Naboo, Coruscant, Kashyyyk and even a Death Star under construction, so guests are unlikely to repeat the same adventure. Many more characters have been incorporated into the new show, with appearances by fan favorites like Darth Vader, Admiral Ackbar, Princess Leia, Boba Fett, Chewbacca, R2-D2, Yoda, and C-3PO.
Did you know? Facts about Disneyland® Park:
- 28,154 park guests entered Disneyland on opening day, July 18, 1955.
- For a time, the soundtrack heard in Space Mountain was performed by OC legend Dick Dale, "King of the Surf Guitar."
- Voiceovers for Darth Vader, C-3PO and Yoda in the new Star Tours – The Adventures Continue were recorded by the original actors James Earl Jones, Anthony Daniels and Frank Oz respectively.
